Charity to host Brac benefit concert

The Lean on Me charity plans to host a benefit concert on Cayman Brac next month to raise money for the seniors center and cancer victim Juliet Casselman.

Ms. Casselman has been diagnosed with squamous cell carinoma of the larynx.

Although the Brac Explosion concert is free, organizers welcome donations from the attending public. The show begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the Agricultural Grounds on the Bluff.

Artists performing at the event include Papi Conolly, Jeffery Wilson, Andy Martin, Quincy Brown, Los Tropicanos, C Level, Inverse, Andrea Rivera, Ernie Scott, Arlin Tatum, Cayman Brac Cowboys, Cayman Brac Kitchen Band, Brac Koalition, Tafari and Tashaun Young, Junior Dilbert, Tammy Banks, Layman E. Scott High School, West End Primary School, Mark Tibbetts, and Demae Lee.

“I look forward to the event being as successful as it was in May 2012. We have had many fund raisers over the years in Grand Cayman that were successful. I chose Cayman Brac because this is where I’m from and I want to bring the charity home and assist my people also,” said the Lean On Me Committee’s chairperson, Derri Lee, who will also perform at the event.
