Cruise berth feedback sought

The Chamber of Commerce is seeking residents’ views on the government’s proposed improvements to the cruise berthing facilities at the Royal Watler Cargo and Cruise facility.

Under the proposal, two piers would be built, creating four new berths for cruise ships.

A statement from the Chamber said the project would require dredging the sea floor, land reclamation, construction of retaining walls, and drilling and blasting activities to accommodate the berths, a new terminal and parking facilities.

The survey was developed by the Chamber to seek the public’s views “on the proposed project and the likely potential impacts associated with the construction and operational phases of the project.”

All information provided for the survey will be kept confidential, Chamber officials said.
