The girls softball division of the Cayman Islands Little League has been training since the beginning of this February and will soon begin a new season of games at the Field of Dreams.
Three teams of girls, ages 11-17, will compete this season. So far 35 girls from nine schools have signed up, and there is still space for a few more who wish to play.
There may be some girls who have enjoyed softball in school P.E. classes and who now wish to play on a team.
Games will take place on Wednesdays from 6:30-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 4:30-6 p.m., from March 4 until June 6. The concession stand will be open during games, serving cooked food, snacks and drinks.
The girls, along with all other Little League players, are currently selling the popular discount cards for just $5.
The cards are good until the end of December and feature savings at a number of local businesses.
The youngsters will also begin selling tickets for the annual fundraising raffle later in the season.
Cayman Islands Little League is celebrating its 26th season this year. Since its inception, thousands of children have played baseball and softball free of cost thanks to corporate sponsors and the wider community.
