'Bare Assets' wins Kirk Slam

The four-man Bare Assets team won the fifth annual Kirk Slam Dolphin Tournament over the weekend. The team weighed in two dolphins over the two-day tournament, totaling 51.3 pounds, including a tie for the biggest fish of the weekend at 26.5 pounds.

Bill Pennington caught both of the fish for the winning team. Dane Walton, Ian Pairaudeau and Andrew Ward joined Pennington on the winning team. Team Nuttin Honey came in second with two fish totaling 47.7 pounds. Team Blue Diamond came in third with two fish weighing in at a combined 46.8 pounds.

More than 50 boats registered for the tournament. Seas were rough over the weekend and anglers did not catch nearly as many fish as last year, according to tournament records.
