Formula 1 racing revs up again on Sunday with the Austrian Grand Prix, and because Mercedes are dominating the sport so much, the irony is that victory for Sebastian Vettel would be a welcome upset.
The race is at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, where Vettel was adored by locals when he raced for Red Bull and won four consecutive world drivers’ titles with them. He is now with Ferrari.
Mercedes took over last season. Nico Rosberg won at Austria last year, but Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton is the hot favorite, having won four of the this season’s seven races. Rosberg has two victories and Vettel one, the Malaysian in March.
Hamilton streaked away to win the drivers’ title last season, ahead of Rosberg, and they look set to do it again in this campaign – unless Vettel can find an extra gear.
