Brac Christmas tree lighting ceremony a community affair

Cayman Brac was alight with music and festive cheer on Monday at the District Administration Building for the Annual Rotary Club of Cayman Brac Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

The evening kicked off with the singing of the national song, followed by remarks from Rotary President Lauriese Ashman, a devotional from pastor Shakier Khan of the Crossroad Baptist Church, and official greetings from District Commissioner Ernie Scott. Spirits were lifted with numerous musical performances, with the sound of young voices raised in Christmas songs and carols drifting through the evening air.

Santa’s imminent arrival elicited much excitement and heralded time for the official tree lighting.

The night was capped off with a visit from Santa and his helpers handing out gifts to all the children, a true celebration of community spirit and resulting in happy faces all around.
