Rocking boat party features The Brothers Remedy

Local musicians take to the stage on the water.

The Brothers Remedy (formerly known as Crimson House) are the headliners Saturday for “Rock the Boat 2,” the last event of the season for Epic Day Entertainment.

In partnership with the Sound Solutions company, which is bringing The Brothers Remedy (TBR) to Grand Cayman for the second year, “Rock the Boat 2” is expected to be a blast with additional performances by local talent The Neverines, Derrick McKay, Chris Bodden, Jonathan Ebanks and Jardel McIntosh.

The Brothers Remedy

The Brothers Remedy began as a breakaway duo from established show band Crimson House when they found themselves touring and performing in different places than the seven-piece show band. They formed TBR with the intention of matching the sound and performance energy of a seven-piece band with just two people.

The international touring duo, who blend genres seamlessly, have been hailed as “the duo who can fill any stage, no matter the size.”

Nick Becker and Riaan Smit use multiple instruments and loop tricks to create their massive sound, including, but not limited to, saxophone, harmonica, guitar, bass and percussion. Becker and Smit met in the circus, where Smit was the ringmaster and Becker, the mad sax performer. The rest, as they say, is history.

They say that they strive for being real in a world that sometimes can be perceived as being full of fakery, and pride themselves in performing with passion and creating an experience worth remembering.

When asked why the decision was made to bring The Brothers Remedy back to Cayman, Derrick McKay of Sound Solutions said, “Come and hear them play and you will not question the decision!”
