A woman with serious injuries to her arm and body entered the George Town Police Station Wednesday night around 8:30 p.m., the police service reported.
Officers on duty administered first aid to the woman until an ambulance transported her to the hospital. The victim is in stable condition.
When officers arrived at the scene of the crime, near the George Town Post Office, the suspect was still on location and armed with a large knife and stones. Police said members of the public attempted to calm the situation.
A foot chase ensued and police took the suspect into custody. The case is under investigation.
