Record-setting Breeze Fusion 5K Walk/Run

After a highly successful 2016, the Breeze Fusion 5K Walk/Run has shown little sign of slowing down, with a record-setting number of participants taking part in the 11th annual event.

More than 250 runners and walkers from all walks of life took part in the annual charity event on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Smith Barcadere. The community event has become a staple on the regular 5K circuit.

Radio Cayman Deputy Director Paulette Conolly-Bailey said, “After a stormy night of rain, the skies cleared and Breeze Fusion turned out to be one of the most successful events to date. I was delighted to see the amount of participants, especially the school children and their parents, teachers, guardians, even pooches.

“The corporate support and community support was awesome. Thanks to our staff, Race Caribbean, CaymanActive.com and volunteers including RCIPS, Red Cross, Leos, Lions and other individuals who worked hard to make the event go smoothly. We look forward to next year’s event.”

The event, organized by Radio Cayman and Breeze FM since its inception in 2007, supported the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and the Special Needs Foundation.

With one event down, the Radio Cayman team will finalize their preparations for the 2nd annual Brac Breeze leg on Nov. 25.

The Cayman Brac registration is $15 for adults and $10 for students. Forms are available online at www.radiocayman.gov.ky or from www.caymanactive.com/breeze.
