Cayman swimmer James Allison clocked in two personal best times at 15th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m), while finishing first in two respective heats.
Also at the championships, which featured elite athletes from across the world competing from 16-21 Dec., at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, were Allison’s teammates Alison Jackson, Lauren Hew and Liam Henry.
Allison, 15, competed in the 100m free, finishing heat four in first with a time of 51.16 seconds. He then went on to win heat three of the 200m free, clocking 01:50.67.
Henry, 20, also clocked in a pair of personal best times. The St. Thomas University Junior swam 25.04 seconds in the 50m butterfly and then 56.62 in the 100m fly.
Hew, 22, won heat one for the 50m backstroke, finishing in 29.58 seconds. Hew holds the national record for the 50m back with a time of 28.86 which she set at the same championships back in 2016. She also competed in the 50m free, finishing with a time of 26.79 seconds during her heats.
Jackson, 19, competed in the 100m free and 100m medley. She registered 57.70 seconds in the 100m free and then 1:07.32 in the medley.
Additionally, the four Caymanian swimmers competed in the mixed 4×50 freestyle relay, where they finished heat two in 01:40.08 and then in the mixed 4×50 medley relay in 01:52.54.
