Caymanian track-and-fielders Louis Gordon and Rasheem Brown have qualified for the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled to take place 7-10 June in Austin, Texas.

Both athletes secured spots after competing at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Jacksonville, Florida.

Gordon, 22, a University at Albany junior, posted 7.72 metres in the long jump, enough to qualify him to compete against the best collegiate athletes in the US.

On the track, Brown, 23, a senior at the University of Tennessee, notched a season-best time of 13.45 seconds over the 110m hurdles. His time made him eligible for what will be his second straight nationals.

The NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships will serve as the final collegiate meet of the season for both Gordon and Brown.
