The ‘Clash in Cayman’ sequel goes down this Saturday with three titles up for grabs with the boxers promising all-out action for fight fans.

Conor McIntosh, the pride of Wales, will be looking to hand India’s Mandeep Jangra his second defeat in a row as the two clash for leather and gold in the main event.

The two will scrap for the vacant World Boxing Federation super featherweight title at the Lions Centre, following seven fights that include professional and amateur boxers.

Jangra, who will be cornered by boxing legend Roy Jones Jr., will be hoping to get back in the column in a fight he said fans will be excited to watch.

“This fight is going to be an explosive fight,” Jangra said ahead of his bout. “You don’t want to miss it,” noting that he hopes people will tune into Fightzone where the event will be streamed live.

The Welshman, holding an 8-1 record, said it’s going to be a big fight for him and his goal is simple – become champion.

“Watch me bring that title back to Wales,” McIntosh declared about the upcoming fight.

Though the bouts will certainly bring out local boxing fans, especially for the Caymanian amateurs on the card, there is one fan favourite coming from Southeast Asia who attracted his own ardent fan base at last year’s event.

Filipino Michael Dasmarinas, who stopped Panama’s Jorge Sanchez with a flurry of punches in the sixth round at the December event, will be back, this time hoping to repeat his success against Eduardo Esquivel for the vacant WBF international featherweight title.

“Hello boxing fans in the Cayman Islands … I am inviting you to watch my fight and support this coming November 2 … for the WBF national title, especially to all Filipinos out there please come and watch my fight, thank you in advance,” Dasmarinas said.

With Filipinos the second largest nationality living in the Cayman Islands, totalling more than 6,000 work-permit holders, Dasmarinas should have no trouble filling seats with fans from home.

Right behind the Philippine nationals in Cayman are the British, who will have two compatriots to cheer. Katie Healy, who won the Commonwealth Silver Super Bantamweight title at the inaugural Clash in Cayman will defend that belt against Ashleigh Johnson.

Doors for the event open at 5pm. Fans looking to attend can purchase tickets at Animal House and Smoothie King or at ticketsplus.
