William Guardados Duarte pleaded guilty on Friday, 22 Aug., to causing the death of motorcycle rider Kieron Watler.
Watler, 28, died on the morning of 25 April 2023 after his motorbike was struck on Walkers Road in George Town by the Isuzu Elf truck driven by Duarte.
Duarte, 55, appeared in Grand Court before Justice Cheryll Richards on Friday, where he entered a not-guilty plea on a charge of causing death by dangerous driving, but admitted causing death by careless driving.
Crown prosecutor Scott Wainwright asked to be given two weeks to consider Duarte’s pleas.
The matter will return to court on 5 Sept.
