New pensions board unveiled

The National Pensions Board has a fresh look after 10 new members were appointed by government to the 11-strong group.

Peter Huber, global head at Maples Fiduciary Services, has been appointed to chair the board. He is the only member from the previous board.

Michael Myles, the employment and immigration minister, said, “We are reinforcing the integrity and sustainability of our pension system.

“Strengthening pension governance is a key part of building long-term financial stability and supporting the overall well-being of our people.”

The board’s responsibilities include promoting the setting up and extension of pension funds across Cayman, advising the minister and making recommendations on pension plans.
