The lucky winner of a competition to meet and have dinner with multiple Grammy Award winning artist John Legend is singing praises for what he has to look forward to.
Leigh Hipkins, who along with a guest, won the pleasure of having dinner with the American R&B and hip hop soul singer at an undisclosed location on 2 February, as well as a pair of VIP all-access passes for the John Legend concert 3 February at Camana Bay in Grand Cayman.
Mr. Hipkins, who met with John Legend VIP Competition organisers Cayman Free Press and Monster Media last week, said, “I came in to buy two early bird tickets for the John Legend show for myself and my girlfriend, which entered me in the running to get the passes. I guess I just came at the right time.”
Mr. Hipkins said the win was a great way to start the New Year. He said he moved to Cayman Islands six months ago and this was an added bonus to his recent migration.
“We contemplated buying stage front tickets, but decided to go with general admission and now we have all access, so we can give two of the other tickets to some of our friends. I’ve only been here for a short time, so I guess it’s beginners luck. We’re starting out with a bang it seems,” he said.
Mr. Legend, an accomplished songwriter and solo artists who also has collaborated with fellow leading musical acts such as Kanye West, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, is scheduled to perform Friday, 3 February at Camana Bay. Tickets are available for purchase online through caymanboxoffice.com.
