Getting healthier is not rocket science, you just eat better, cut out junk, get exercise and reduce stress. But as everyone knows, it’s easier said than done.
To entirely change your lifestyle and embrace healthier living in the long term requires motivation and support, which is why people are turning to lifestyle centres that have been popping up throughout the United States and overseas.
A group of Caymanians who have attended such seminars have joined forces to bring Ben and Lisa Brown from Eden’s Pathway Lifestyle Center in Tennessee, USA, to Cayman for four days of free educational sessions and private consultations to help people in Cayman kickstart healthier lives.
Darrell Dacres has visited lifestyle centres in the US four times and by adopting the advice he picked up those centres, he changed his lifestyle and got rid of the migraines he had been suffering from for years.
“I changed my diet, my exercise, my sleeping patterns. They address things like your sleeping patterns and taking time out to have supper with your family. There are many things you can do to simplify your lifestyle,” Mr. Dacres said.
Eden’s Pathway Lifestyle Center promotes an eight-point formula to help live a fully, healthy and happy life. These are fresh air, sunlight, nutrition, temperance, pure water, exercise, rest and trust in divine power.
The Browns will be holding evening seminars for free at the South Sound Community Centre from 4-7 June and will provide free private consultations during the day.
The theme of the programme in Cayman is “Making a Difference – Living Healthy Starts With Me” and it will touch on many aspects of life. The workshops will address issues facing many people in Cayman, including diabetes, weight control, high blood pressure, heart disease, depression, allergies, stress, arthritis, cancer and rebuilding the immune system.
