To coincide with the opening of the Cayman Airways route to Panama, a Brazilian wholesaler met with local companies.
A representative from Nascimento Turismo Ltda was at the l1th Cayman Islands Tourism Exchange to receive the latest updates about the Islands. The event was held from 2 to 4 May and had more than 100 participants, representing four international media partners, 15 travel trade wholesalers, 22 local tourism-related companies, the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism and the Cayman Islands Tourism Association.
Business relationships
Organisers the Cayman Islands Tourism Association said that overseas delegates enjoyed three days on island, meeting with local suppliers, forging new business relationships and enjoying on-island excursions to experience the Cayman Islands first hand, explained Jane van der Bol, executive director of the association.
“The opportunity to speak with these important travel trade representatives is so critical to the Cayman Islands and our ability to remain as a traveller’s top pick to the Caribbean.
“We enjoy having them on island and take great pride in showcasing all the great experiences to be had on all three of our Islands,” she noted.
She added that plans were in motion for next year’s event, which will once again be held at the beginning of May.
