I have visited your island several times in the last few years and as a part of a small consulting group of problem solvers, have taken some interest in the trash management and recycling on your island (or lack thereof would be more accurate).
Following the articles in this paper and other sources I have seen a number of both practical and viable solutions presented and rejected by your government.
It appears that not only is the trash problem not being dealt with, it is also rapidly approaching a tipping point that will make some of the currently viable solutions impractical.
There are measures that can and should be implemented immediately, and yet it appears your government has decided to do nothing for at least two more years!
Someone needs to press forward while there is still time. I hope the next time I visit, the island is still there and has not disappeared beneath the weight of gathering trash.
