The public is invited to nominate health services professionals for the 2015 National Heroes Day awards.
Residents may put forward the names of individuals they believe have contributed to the development of health services in the Cayman Islands, for recognition in award categories Early Pioneers and Long Service.
“These people are the reason we have reached where we are and hence recognition in a lovely patriotic setting is most appropriate…If you know someone who played their part, please don’t hesitate to nominate,” said Minister of Health Osbourne Bodden.
A National Heroes Day 2015 Committee will review the nominations. Recipients will be honored on Heroes Day, Jan. 26. Honorees in the Early Pioneer and Pioneer categories will be awarded a unique pin.
Health services includes all services dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases or the promotion, maintenance and restoration of human health.
Submissions close Sept. 30. The nomination form is available at www.ministryofhealth.gov.ky and www.gov.ky. Nominations can be sent via email to [email protected].
