Longtime George Town resident Cecil Hedges, 63, died in an accident at a residential construction site in Lower Valley this week, according to police.
Police and emergency medical personnel responded to a call shortly after noon on Tuesday on Natures Circle off Beach Bay Road to a report of serious injuries.
Mr. Hedges died from injuries caused when he was “struck by a concrete slab,” a police spokeswoman said.
Police said they are treating the death as an accident.
The Department of Labour and Pensions is now in charge of the investigation.
CI Precast, the company working on the construction site, did not comment on the accident as of press time, but a company representative did say that investigators were at the office taking statements Thursday.
