A family fun day is planned to celebrate Earth Day and encourage all to go green.
Come and Celebrate Earth Day is scheduled for Saturday, 19 April, 10am to 4pm, at Boatswain’s Beach.
The event – organised by Cayman Observer, 106.1KISSFM, X107.1FM and the non-profit organisation Global Green Caribbean – will be packed with activities for both children and the young at heart.
On offer will be guided tours of the Turtle Farm, swimming and snorkelling in Breakers Lagoon, traditional craft making, sack races throughout the day, bouncy castles and more.
Information will be readily available on simple measures to make your home more environmentally friendly, as well as how to help protect Cayman’s environment. Children will also have the opportunity to learn about Cayman’s environmental future and its eco system.
In addition, 106.1KISS and the DMS Street Team will be there spinning the tunes, keeping all entertained.
Visitors will be able to benefit from a special entrance offer of just $5 for adults. Children aged 15 and under go free when accompanied by an adult.
Stepping up to help make the event happen is Cayman National Bank, Residences of the Ritz Carlton, Celebrations and Big Daddy’s Liquor.
Global Green Caribbean will also be revealing the winner of their Logo Design competition for school students between 12 and 2pm.
The newly-formed organisation aims to make environmental preservation more than just a catch phrase, but a way of life for the Cayman Islands and the rest of the Caribbean.
