Invitation to join the Green Team

Cayman Islands-based firm dms Organisation is encouraging its staff, and residents alike, to make their ecological footprint and participate in the Chamber of Commerce Earth Day Roadside Clean-Up.

The event will mark the kick-off of the island-wide activities for Earth Week 2008. A record number of 28 companies have signed on as sponsors for the roadside clean-up on Saturday April 19, 2008 commencing at 7am and continuing until noon.

dms’ official Go Green team and social committee have invited and partnered with the Central Caribbean Marine Institute (CCMI), Kinetic Partners and Stuarts Walker Hersant, as well as two of their own companies, dms Broadcasting and BrightStaff to maximise the number of volunteers taking part.

‘We are very excited to participate in this great event as it provides the ultimate opportunity to demonstrate our company’s commitment to take responsibility for our environment and the future of our Island,’ said Tara Tvedt, dms’ Go Green programme coordinator.

‘This occasion has been met with sheer enthusiasm to participate by our employees.’

In addition to their participation, dms Broadcasting’s X107.1 will be onsite to support the team in their designated clean-up area in George Town.

‘We are very excited at the prospect of personalising our participation and really conjuring up team spirit amongst our employees and friends as we collectively make an effort to preserve our environment.

‘As such, we have event specific t-shirts for our group of volunteers, as well as eco-friendly green competitions to rile up the enthusiasm!’ she added.

‘But that’s not all – our volunteers will be rewarded for their support as our team heads over to Señor Frogs, dms place of George Town, for a celebratory after-party.’

dms has recently instituted an internal ‘Go Green’ programme establishing a foundation and culture dedicated to environmental awareness and preservation.

This programme is committed to introducing internal and external eco-friendly practices, as well as, taking the opportunity to educate employees about protecting the environment.

‘We are very much looking forward to supporting initiatives in this upcoming Earth Week as well as continuing to participate in a host of community events going on during the course of the year.

‘We would also like to take the opportunity to thank our friends at Stuarts Walker Hersant, Kinetic Partners and CCMI for joining forces with us in our clean-up efforts – it’s all about team effort!’
