Letters to the Editor: Excellent eye care here

Allow me space in your paper to
express my thanks to a doctor and his staff.

Every day we hear so much negative
comments on talk shows and read the papers, watch TV. But through your paper
I’ll render to Caesar what is Caesar’s.

As a diabetic for over 40 years and
not paying much attention to it, things were getting worse, unknown to me.

About five years ago I noticed a
change in my sight, like hazy and a bit of blurred vision. I visited doctors on
and off the Island who told me I was going blind within a year, then it went to
six months.

Letters were written stating I was
not fit and unable to drive my taxi, which I make a living from. Yes, I saw
drastic changes, all for the worse, but as a person who strongly believes in
the words of God and puts Him first in my life, I know all things are possible;
only believe in Him and that God put the doctors on Earth to serve and gave
them wisdom and knowledge.

I first started making big changes
in my diet and how much things I had to use or cut out, which improved my
diabetes like 30 per cent.

Next I started praying and fasting
weekly and told God if it be His will, not mine; I practiced so that if I would
become blind I was prepared spiritually and mentally.

Then I became a patient of J.
Pandit of the George Town Government Lions Eye Clinic. I took injections in
both eyes, lots of laser and retina surgeries again in both eyes and then cataracts.

I wanted to give up. I was tired
with doctors, but Dr. Pandit encouraged me not to give up because he told me
after my last cataract procedure he’ll never give up on me and I’m saying
publicly a big thank you to Dr. Pandit and Mrs. Diann and Ms Tiffany at the
front desk. Today my sight is up to 80 per cent or more.

To anyone having to visit Dr.
Pandit, you are in excellent hands because.

Again, thank you Dr. Pandit and
staff. God be
the glory.
