The Phoenix Athletic Club run its
annual World Run Day Run/Walk on Sunday, 7 November.
Run Day,celebrated on the first
Sunday in November each year, was initiated in 1999 by Bill McDermott of Long
Island, New York,as a memorial to his brother.
From its inception as a small event
the idea has spread throughout the world, and runs now take place in many
countries.
The Cayman Islands has been
represented every year. The 5k run will
begin and finish opposite the South Terminal on Harbour Drive. Start time is
5pm, with registration from 4-4.45pm.
Entry fee is$15. Awards will be
presented to the first three male and female finishers,and random prizes will
be distributed.
All participants will receive a
commemorative event shirt. There will be a special award for the best national
costume.
