Aviator-lawyer recognised

Airfinance Journal’s 2010 list of rising stars in its Guide to Aviation
Lawyers includes Maples asset finance lawyer Shari McField-Bell.

Ms McField-Bell, who is Caymanian and attended the Cayman
Islands Law School before completing the LPC in London, joined Maples in 2006 and was
qualified in 2008. She has experience in aircraft finance, aircraft registrations
and, in particular, export credit-supported transactions. The majority of her
portfolio is US and Europe-based clients, however, she also performs private
aircraft registrations in Cayman, which affords her opportunities for
one-on-one client interaction.

“This public recognition of her efforts in her chosen field is well
deserved,” said Joannah Bodden Small, a partner at Maples and Calder. “She approaches
every aspect of her practice with care, accuracy and efficiency.”

Ms McField-Bell said she is “honoured to have been chosen as a rising star
for something that I find so rewarding”.

“I enjoy the airfinance field because each transaction is quite different.
Nothing becomes too routine.”

“Maples and Calder encourages a very collegiate and team focused approach
amongst staff,” she added, “Which nurtures valuable relationships between the associates
and the partners. This sets us apart from the rest and is one of the key elements
that strengthens the firm and enables lawyers like myself to be recognised
internationally.”

Ms. McField-Bell’s profile was highlighted in the September 2010 edition
of Airfinance Journal.
