The Cayman Islands’ on-going moratorium on new liquor licences
has been lifted for a period of two months that began on Wednesday, by order of
the Cabinet.
According to the order,
made in Cabinet on 9 November, the Liquor Licensing Board is now allowed to
grant new package and retail licences in the Cayman
Islands.
The lifting of the
moratorium – which has been in place for several years – will only take effect
between 17 November and 16 January, 2011. That period is inclusive of those
dates.
Gas stations may not
apply for retail or package licences under the order.
After 16 January the
moratorium period will continue.
