The annual St. Ignatius Candlelight Carol Service and Christmas Fundraiser will be held on Wednesday, 15 December at 7pm in the school courtyard.
The event will feature readings for the season, singing of carols, concert and stage bands, steel pan music and school choirs, all in the open air with festive Christmas lights for attendees to enjoy.
The programme will conclude with the drawing for $25,000, second prize is $2,500, while third prize is US$2,500. There are also many more prizes, including five Cayman Airways travel vouchers.
The prize drawing is always fully audited by KPMG. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win and all winners will be notified by phone on 15-16 December and results will be posted on the school website: www.st-ignatius.com.
This is the main annual fundraiser for St Ignatius, with net proceeds to benefit both the church and the school. This September St Ignatius Church celebrated 60 years in the Cayman community, while St Ignatius School is in now in the midst of its 40th anniversary festivities.
The church will invest funds toward the completion of Stella Maris Church in Cayman Brac as well as community and religious programmes. The school will use the proceeds toward the facilities development fund, including building an additional classroom block for primary students. A portion of the proceeds will also go to the scholarship fund, which provides tuition assistance for those families who are unable to afford full fees.
Tickets cost $25 and are available at the school or church offices and from a number of parents, students and church members. Tickets are also on sale at several businesses, including: A.L. Thompson’s, Island Cleaners, Walkers Road Texaco, GT Automotive, Funky Tangs, Cayman Distributors and Uncle Bills, just to name a few. Tickets will also be on sale at most major supermarkets through 13 December.
