The Cayman Islands’ Department of Tourism is proud to announce its new role as the official sponsor of the 2007 Houston Polo Club season.
The Houston Polo Club, founded in 1928, is a members-only organisation, and remains a non-profit facility dedicated to the sport of polo and equestrian activities. The club was recently voted one of the top polo clubs in America by the luxury magazine Robb Report.
Polo tournaments and leagues are played throughout the spring and fall seasons, with hundreds of enthusiastic spectators lining the field each Sunday, and the number burgeoning to several thousand during the esteemed International Polo Season, 23 September 23 – 14 October 14.
The Department of Tourism plans to sponsor a number of exciting events for the Club this year, says the release, including a day-long polo extravaganza on 9 September, where polo enthusiasts will take in exciting match play, followed by eclectic musical entertainment and a VIP reception for the club’s members and special guests.
Also on the calendar, Cayman presents the Western Challenge Finals on 10 June, where representatives from the Department of Tourism will present awards at the culmination of match play. Other activities include a
