Cable & Wireless is boosting broadband speeds up to four times faster for customers region-wide without increasing prices.

Its lowest-end upgrades would increase broadband speeds up to one megabyte per second, the company announced in a press release.
The improvements are part of a three-year, US$140 million network upgrade, said Chris Hetherington, Chief Executive Officer, C&W Americas & Caribbean.
In announcing the region-wide upgrades, Mr. Hetherington said the move indicated two things: ‘First, it reveals our commitment to providing our customers with world-class technology, access to information and the overall best-value proposition in the marketplace. Second, it shows that we are delivering on our company strategy to maintain and build upon our broadband leadership position in the markets where we operate.’
C & W offers four broadband plans for residential consumers and three for small-to-medium businesses.
The residential packages comes with such free features such as 24-hour call center support, backup dial-up, email accounts, storage, web pages and hot spot roaming. The business plans include Zone Alarm Security Suite, spam and virus blockers, static IP address, enhanced service level objectives and content filtering.
Each customer will receive a dedicated bandwidth to ensure the faster speeds.
Monday’s upgrade coincided with a name change to Cable & Wireless Broadband for all broadband services across the region.
