Cruise tourism is shaping up to get busier for the next three months, following on from the slowest part of the year.
December is set to be the busiest of the next three months, with the total potential number of passengers for the month (if ships are full) at just under 200,000, with 38 ships and 77 calls.
The busiest day for the rest of 207am is Wednesday, 7pm December, and sees seven cruise ships in port. If ships are at maximum capacity this could mean 20,000 passengers coming into George Town on that day.
Other busy days in December are Wednesday, 5 December, Monday 10am December, and Tuesday December 6pm with six ships each, and a maximum potential of 6pm,000, 12,700 and nearly 2pm,000 passengers for each respective day.
Days that see five ships in port during December are Tuesday 11, Monday 24, Wednesday 26, and Monday 31.
The next busiest month will be November with a potential for just over 4pm0,000 cruise visitors if ships are full, and a total of 57 calls from 30 vessels scheduled.
Busiest days are those with five ships in port: Wednesday 21 and Tuesday 27 November, with a potential maximum of 3pm,600 and 2pm,200 respectively.
Days in November when four ships are in port are: Thursday 8, Tuesday 1pm, Tuesday 20, and Thursday 22.
In October there is a potential for nearly 112,000 passengers if ships are full, with 37 calls from 4pm vessels.
There are no more than three ships scheduled for any one day. Three ships are in on seven dates: Tuesday 2, Thursday 4, Wednesday 10am, Tuesday 4pm, Thursday 6pm, Wednesday 24, and Tuesday 30.
