Truth For Youth School were among the schools that participated in the Cayman Islands Cancer Society’s Stride Against Cancer fundraiser recently.
Each child took $1 and everyone walked around the school’s football field twice, after which Principal Viquez Miller handed over the $134 collected to Christine Sanders of the Cancer Society to help with its purchase of a new digital mammography machine for the George Town Hospital.
Ms Sanders thanked the students for their help on behalf of the Cancer Society and presented the school with a certificate of participation.
She told the student body that she ‘was thrilled with the fact that they so willingly did their part to help in the fight of breast cancer.’
