Get ready Cayman! The 14th annual St. Patrick’s Day 5K Irish Jog will take place on Friday, March 17th, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency. The 3.1 mile course follows the cart path around the Britannia golf course and villas.
The Jog, co-sponsored each year by Butterfield Bank and the Hyatt, attracts hundreds of local and overseas participants from the serious runners to the walkers pushing baby strollers.
Participants will receive giveaways and a T-shirt. They are also eligible to win a number of fabulous spot prizes awarded on a draw basis that include Waterford crystal, sunset sails, dinners for two and spa services. The grand-prize this year is two round-trip tickets on Cayman Airways to Chicago with two nights’ Hyatt hotel accommodations. There will be balloons for the children and hats, face stickers, wigs and other fun wear for everyone. Food and refreshments will be available after the event.
Pre-registration begins Monday, March 13th – Thursday March 16th at Butterfield House on Fort Street between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on Jog Day at the Hyatt starting at noon. The entry fee is just CI $10 per person and all proceeds will be donated to the Cayman Islands Cancer Society towards the purchase of a digital mammography unit.
