Sapphire, Blue in magazine hot list

Condé Nast Traveler – May 2006 issue, included two Grand Cayman hot spots on its 10th annual ‘Hot List’.

Blue, the recently opened restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, and Sapphire, Grand Cayman’s newest martini bar, made the list for the ‘2006 Hot Tables’ and ‘2006 Hot Nights’ categories, respectively, says a press release from the Department of Tourism.

‘Our definitive list of the year’s 82 best new places to eat – from Australia to Vietnam,’ the article reads, and this year, the recently opened Blue at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is the Caribbean’s best.

Condé Nast Traveler praises the work of renowned chef Eric Ripert, owner of New York’s Le Bernadin, for his latest venture at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. The article reports that Blue’s appealing menu and superb cuisine also adhere to strict eco-standards, a factor that is increasingly important to today’s travelers.

Hot nightclub, Sapphire, is described as, ‘a low key lounge, drawing twenty- and thirty-somethings with its killer drinks menu’. The bar draws a variety of international travellers all looking to have a great time in Grand Cayman; and with 70 types of martinis and 132 other cocktails, Condé Nast Traveler advises its readers that Sapphire is the place to be for one hot night on Grand Cayman.
