Vibe 98.9 FM has signed on as the official radio station for the official Pirates Week Kick-off Party on Thursday, 9 November.
The event will be held at the picturesque Wharf Restaurant and will feature some of the Cayman Island’s finest musical talent.
‘We think Pirates Week is an exciting time to bring out some of Cayman’s great musical acts,’ said Paramount Media Managing Director Kenny Rankin. ‘We at Vibe are bringing our special touch to this exciting Pirates Week event.’
Red Stripe is partnering with Paramount Media for the kick-off, which will officially bring in Pirates Week 2006. The Wharf will be the backdrop as Cocoa Red, Vashti, Andrea Rivera, Francisco, Morvin Brooks, and Richie Lee join together on one stage for a one-night only extravaganza. DJs from Vibe 98.9 FM will round off musical talent with the beautiful Miss Cayman Ambuyah Ebanks, co-hosting with personalities from Vibe 98.9 FM.
The Wharf Restaurant is transforming its interior into a festival of Caribbean rhythms with an island barbecue and specials on Red Stripe and Bacardi Pirates Punch. Cayman Airways has given 10 plane tickets to any regional destination as gate prizes. Partiers can drop their ticket into the Pirates Treasure Chest and could win these and any of many fantastic prizes, such as dinners for two, spa gifts and hotel stays.
The Seattle Seafarer Pirates will also be jamming at the festivities and will arrive in an invasion by boat. A fireworks display will top off the night of swashbuckling partying.
‘We really wanted to capture the spirit of Pirates Week and thanks to our outstanding partners in Pirates Week, The Wharf, Mel McCoy and Cocoa Red, Red Stripe and Cayman Airways, we are going to do just that,’ Mr. Rankin said. ‘This will be a night to celebrate Caribbean music, Caymanian talent and the fun, carefree spirit of Pirates Week.’
The Pirates Week Kick-off is presented by Vibe 98.9 FM, The Wharf Restaurant, Red Stripe, Cayman Airways, Spin 94.9 FM and Bacardi.
Tickets are $5 at the gate and all guests will receive a ticket for door prizes. There will also be a grand prize for Best Dressed Pirate.
