Carlos Morgan and Sean Evans ended Cayman’s eight-year gold medal drought at this year’s CARIFTA track and field Championship in Tobago.
The Cayman Islands CARIFTA team secured four medals – two golds, one silver and one bronze, states a press release.
Morgan received his gold medal in the U-20 javelin with a throw of 58.75m. Evans medalled in the U-17 shot-put event with a throwing distance of 14.59m.
Richard Ibeh secured the silver in the U-17 discus. His distance was 46.36.
Carl Morgan leap of 6.78 in the U-20 long jump 6.78 gave him the bronze.

The last time Cayman received a gold medal was in 1997 when Cydonie Mothersill won the 100m dash.
