Law School efforts noble

Please allow us space to comment on your editorial placed in the Compass on 25 July 2005 titled Events get us closer to normal.

Your thoughtful editorial served as a poignant reminder for us to express our gratitude and sincere appreciation for the noble actions of the staff of the Cayman Islands Law School.

Their efforts post-Ivan were quite remarkable and despite the difficulties they faced, for example, the total loss of their offices and classrooms, they were able to contribute to all of us feeling a greater sense of normalcy by continuing to provide us with an education.

Many of our houses were destroyed and possessions lost like so many others but we were able to rely on the sanctuary the Law School became by giving us a routine and stimulating our minds.

In your editorial you highlighted two events that were ‘proof positive that life is indeed returning to normal in the Cayman Islands’

We would like to thank the lecturers and support staff for providing us with an event that served the same purpose for us when we needed it most.
