Miss Emma closely dedicated

Close Brothers (Cayman) Limited is recognising staff member Emmie Jane Jackson, better known as Miss Emma by her colleagues, for 10 years of dedicated service to the company.

Miss Emma manages the time and billing system, as well as assists the Human Resources Department, taking care of many day-to-day administrative duties and ensuring new employees receive all the information they need to settle in, states a press release.

‘Miss Emma is a very important member of our team and she is highly regarded by her colleagues and clients alike. She takes great care of our staff and is extremely efficient and professional at her job. On behalf of everyone at Close Brothers I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation for her immense contribution to the company,’ said Linburgh Martin, managing director of Close Brothers (Cayman) Limited.

A lifelong resident of Savannah, Miss Emma has lived off-island for one year when she attended business college in Jacksonville, Florida, gaining a firm grounding for her career.

She took up her position with Close Brothers when the company acquired Chartered Trust, where she previously worked in a similar post in the billing department.

In her time with Close Brothers, Miss Emma has seen many changes in the company including rapid expansion in its headcount and client base. An expert on the time and billing system, she has kept up-to-date with the system over the years attending regular training courses in Cayman and the US. She has always successfully met the demands of her increased workload with the company’s growing client base.

‘I have truly enjoyed the last 10 years with Close Brothers and have found them to be excellent employers,” said Miss Emma. ‘During my time here I have seen the company grow from seven employees to over 50. In fact, in this last year we have increased our office space, which thankfully sustained little damage from Hurricane Ivan. It is very satisfying to be a part of the company’s success and I am looking forward to the next 10 years.’

When asked what has been her most memorable moment at Close Brothers, Miss Emma recalls the days following Hurricane Ivan.

‘It was very emotional coming back in to work the week following the hurricane and I remember the great relief at seeing the faces of my colleagues, all well and safe. The company took exceptionally good care of us and helped us to get back on our feet and I will always be thankful for that.’

Outside of the office Miss Emma is an avid reader of poetry, enjoys walking and takes part in various church activities. She is treasurer of the Savannah Church of God Sunday School and enjoys the friendship and fellowship from visiting parishioners both in Cayman and overseas.
