Miss Cayman Cristin Alexander is no stranger to these pages as a top volleyball player. This week she showed her aptitude for another discipline: football.
Alexander was part of the Miss Universe friendly match at Pacaembu Stadium in Sao Paolo, Brazil. All of the beauty pageant contestants would don cleats, shorts and tops adorned with their sashes. In spite of the social nature of the game, reports indicate things got chippy with Miss Finland Pia Pakarinen tackling Miss Zealand Priyani Puketapu.
One of the highlights of the match was the presence of Brazilian football legend Cafu. The two-time World Cup winner, who once played for Italian clubs AC Milan and Roma, served as honorary coach for both teams.
For the record Alexander left Cayman en route to Brazil on 20 August. The football match is one a number of activities she is doing in the run-up to the Miss Universe pageant, which takes place on Monday, 12 September, in Sao Palo.
