Miss Cayman contestants prepare for next pageant

The annual Miss Cayman Islands Pageant is set for Saturday, 24 September, at the Lions Community Centre.

This year’s pageant theme is ‘Island Paradise’, which is meant to mystify the audience at the Lion’s Centre.

Gates will open to the public at 5.3 pm. Tickets are $30 and children $15.

Children ages 12 and under have discounted tickets and the VIP section is sold out.

The contestants have been training for several months and have gained knowledge and experience in the areas of etiquette, runway, public speaking and interview techniques.

The contestants visited the Sister Islands this past weekend, hosting a fashion show at the Alexander Hotel and touring both Islands during the weekend.

Their next public appearance will be a fashion show fundraiser at Tikki Beach on Thursday, 15 September, followed by a motorcade on Saturday, 17 September.

Commending the young ladies for their dedication and unrelenting efforts during the time Committee Chair Lynn Bodden, said “The contestants are extremely hard-working and committed to becoming the next Miss Cayman Islands. All ten of them are true winners in our eyes, and we wish them all the best in the pageant.

Tickets are on sale at Sand Angels at Camana Bay, Just Add Water at Governor’s Square, Ministry of Tourism Dawn McLean-Sawney and from Miss Cayman contestants and committee members.
