Clarence ‘King’ Flowers is a staple of the local fishing scene. Now he can etch his name further into angling lore.
Recently King caught a 425 pound swordfish in Florida. The fish was roughly 15lbs off the local record of 440lbs. King caught the fish on board the charter boat Relentless, captained by Paul Ross, who states it was a great catch.
“Clarence caught a monster broadbill swordfish during daylight hours on a 80lb conventional tackle,” Ross said. “The fish was hooked at a depth of 1600 feet. Clarence boated the fish in two hours after gathering more than 3000 feet of line back on the reel. The swordfish was weighed at Bun N’ Mary’s Marina.
“It is the second largest swordfish caught on nonelectric assisted reel in the Florida Keys and one of the most magnificent displays of daytime sword fishing acrobatics ever seen. This was truly a magnificent angling feat, congratulations Clarence.”

Congratulations on a most magnificent angling feat which could only be paralleled on land with hunting tigers. A job very well done and one less fish in the sea.
Congrats King on a heck of a fish! I wish you had caught it in Cayman waters…That would be the icing on the cake.
The last comment from some clown called rasta mouse is stupid and he must have been smoking too much and could not see what he was typing. I very much doubt that King would ever kill a Tiger. Rasta Mouse should be more worried about killing more of his brain cells!
Great going King…Two thumbs up!
