Cayman Brac’s Faith Hospital is conducting a blood donor drive this week.
The blood drive continues until Friday, 23 September.
Anyone willing and interested to be a donor is invited to give the blood bank a call at 948-2243, ext. 124, or visit the Faith Laboratory.
The entire process takes about 45 minutes.
Volunteers will be asked to fill out a simple questionnaire to determine if they are able to give blood. Certain restrictions are still in place for persons who have spent time in the United Kingdom due to the risk of transmitting Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, part of the family of diseases which includes Mad Cow Disease.
Lizzette Yearwood, CEO of the Health Services Authority, said, “On behalf of the HSA, I would like to commend Faith Hospital for taking their continued efforts and I would urge as many members of the Brac community to participate and possibly save the life of someone they know and love.”
