At approximately 7:30pm Saturday evening two males entered Uncle Clem’s Store on Mary Street, George Town and threatened staff. One of the males appeared to be holding a firearm. Staff confronted the suspects who both then ran out of the store stealing a bag containing coins. The males are described as:
Approximately 6 feet tall, slim build with dark complexion
Approximately 5 feet 4 inches in height, stocky build, light complexion
Both males had their faces covered with black shirts and wearing gloves. The suspects both ran in the direction of School House Road. A police search of the area proved negative.
No shots were fired and no persons injured.
Initial reporting of the incident was delayed due to witnesses not co-operating with police.
CID Department are continuing investigations and viewing of CCTV.
