Devils did not find their Peake

For the second week running the top two teams in the Heineken Sunday League met when Boca Juniors hosted top of the table Triple Crown Wanderers at Ed Bush.

Expectations were a close match but an out-of-sorts Boca crashed to a 4-0 defeat against a rampant Wanderers side. Emmanuel Brown hit two, including a penalty and the other scorers were Marc Brown and Ford Pierson.

Ed Bush field was also the venue for an entertaining match between MC Devils and Old Boys.

The scoring was confined to a two minute spell in the first half. First, evergreen Old Boys striker George McKenzie notched his third of the season when his miscued cross sailed over the head of the surprised Devils’ keeper and into the net. William Peake equalised for Devils soon after which is how it stayed.

Harry’s FC jumped over Boca into second place after a win against Prison. Kemar Scott and Chris Fenn put Harry’s ahead in the first half before Prison fired back immediately after the restart through Cohen Daley and Chad Bradley. Floyd McKenzie hit a penalty to give Harry’s a 3-2 victory.

The last match of the weekend was between CML Claymores and last season’s champions Agua FC who got off to the better start and deservedly took an early lead before going on to win 2-0.
