Thursday

The party begins in good old brilliant style on Thursday, 24th November, where the Pirates Week Courtyard Kick-Off BBQ takes place at ye olde favourite stomping ground, the Alexander Hotel. Tis going to be a right old shindig and no messin, almost as good as that time when me an One-Leg McGhee got involved in larks down the ports of Old London Towne on Cup Final Day. That goes on from 6pm to 9pm so ye better be ready with the fun-oars, ye hear me?

The frolics don’t finish there, no boblubber they do not. For there be a Pirates Week Kick Off Dance from 9pm all the way through to 2am at La Esperanza, which is what those Spanish curs call the words for ‘The Hope’. Friday

Th’ very next day, Friday, 25 November, the young pups get the chance to get their own scavenger hunt under way betwixt 1pm and 3pm. This be a real good opportunity for the whippersnappers to get well boxed into the rhythm of the Pirates Week celebration, Brac-style, and it be a right delight to see the looks on thur little faces as they enjoy the family fun.

Come 6pm there be a welcome reception at yon airport, til 7pm, where the locals come and say ‘thanks for invading’ to us Pirate types. This kind of respect is like that earned by such famous pirates as Old Braggart the Blenny back in days of yore and it be good to see ye Brac continue the theme. There be more welcoming party on Friday from 9pm onward. Ye may see us Pirates down there – partyin’

Saturday

This be the main day and night of ye Heritage Day and from 9am at the Cayman Brac Heritage House ye can expect a vast and magnificent array of stalls, games, music, sport challenges, old time artefacts, local food and all-day arts and crafts and children’s activities. See ye down there.

In the Alexander Hotel between 2pm and 4pm they prove us pirates ain’t so good at counting by having the Parade Happy Hour, before the fun and brilliant parade itself winds from Alexander Hotel to Scotts Dock from 4.30pm. These floats be right pretty and community based so it be worth taking one of those camera machines to capture the fun. More things to spy with ye eyes include the great Spotts Dock fireworks at 7pm and then a Pirates Send Off Dance from 9pm. Arrr, it be grand.
