The Stingray Swim Club hosts the 2011 Mike Lockwood Memorial Meet this week over four days.
It’s at the Lions Pool from Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 November sponsored by the Pirates Week Committee. Brenda McGrath is president of the Stingray Swim Club. She said; “We are expecting it to be a mega meet this year with a group of 16 swimmers and parents coming from the Y Speedos Swim Club from Kingston, Jamaica, eight from Cayman Brac accompanied by coach Mike Hundt, eight from AAP Coaching and Swimming accompanied by coach Marie and a huge turnout of swimmers is expected from both Stingray Swim Club and Camana Bay Aquatics Club.”
The meet is spread over four days with the longer 800 and 1500 metre events starting at 5.30pm on Wednesday at the and the rest of the meet continuing on Friday at 5.30pm and 9am on Saturday and Sunday. New this year will be the addition of several open events for the masters as well as 50m and 200m freestyle events.
