Stingrays busy all week

Over the Fathers’ Day weekend, there is a feast of swimming. While the Flowers Sea Swim on Saturday takes centre stage, this is also the traditional time for the Stingray Swim Club to finish its domestic season before the summer break with a long meet with the Caledonian Group Summer Splash.

The Stingray club is again delighted to welcome the Caledonian Group as its sponsor for the third year running. This is a great all-level meet with racing on the Wednesday, Friday and culminating on Fathers’ Day itself (15, 17 and 19 June) when the meet and the season are rounded off.

The decision not to hold the meet on Saturdays was taken some years ago as so many of the competitive swimmers and the officials are involved in both the Caledonian Group Summer Splash and the Flowers Sea Swim that everything became a bit hectic.

With former national coach Dave Kelsheimer again bringing a team and the memory of such a vibrant and successful Lions meet still fresh in the mind, all is set for a great weekend of swimming in the sea and in the pool.

Registration closes on Friday 10 June at 5pm. Stingray club members can register for free online while non-members can find the entry forms by visiting www.caymanswimming.com
