FirstCaribbean gets new name

FirstCaribbean International Bank will rebrand under the CIBC banner and adopt the new name of CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank.

FirstCaribbean’s parent company, CIBC, is one of Canada’s largest banks with offices in major financial centres around the world.

As a member of the CIBC group of companies, CIBC FirstCaribbean will adopt a new branding that will more closely align the bank to the CIBC brand, while still maintaining the FirstCaribbean name and local identity, the bank said in a statement.

The transition to the new CIBC FirstCaribbean identity will be gradual over the coming months as the CIBC FirstCaribbean brand is introduced to operations across the Caribbean region. Over this time the claret (red) and gold of the CIBC brand will be phased-in as branch signs, employee uniforms and marketing materials are updated.

“The addition of CIBC to the FirstCaribbean brand emphasises CIBC’s long-term commitment to the Caribbean region, our employees and our clients,” said the bank’s CEO John Orr.
