Two long-time members of the Cayman Islands Law Reform Commission members will leave the group as of next month, according to an announcement Monday by Attorney General Sam Bulgin.
Commission chairman Langston Sibblies, QC, will demit office on 18 July, to be succeeded by current member Ian Paget-Brown. Mr. Sibblies served as commission chairman for the past six years.
Also departing the Law Reform Commission will be Cayman Islands Justice Andrew Jones, a member of the commission since its inception.
Succeeding the two members will be Deputy Solicitor General Vicki Ellis of the Cayman Islands Legal Department and Kenneth Farrow, QC of the Mourant law firm. Mr. Farrow has been an attorney for 45 years and has practised in the Cayman Islands for the last 12 years.
Incoming chairman Mr. Paget-Brown is a published author and has been an attorney for 43 years.
Director of Public Prosecutions Cheryll Richards and Mrs. Eileen Nervik will remain as members of the Law Reform Commission.
