People aged 30 and over can now get their COVID-19 booster shots, and the doses will be available to all adults of 18-and-over from Tuesday, 7 Dec., the Public Health Department has announced.
To avail of a booster shot, a person must have received his or her second dose of vaccine at least six months prior to getting the booster.
The booster remains available to all teachers and school staff, healthcare workers, uniformed services and the clinically vulnerable.
Public Health also invited any individuals over the age of 12 who are clinically vulnerable to come forward for the booster. This includes those with any of the following diseases or conditions:
- Diabetes
- Hypertension

- Heart disease
- Lung disease
- Kidney disease
- Autoimmune diseases or compromised/weakened immune system
- Asthma

- People with solid organ transplants
- Pregnant women.
“Persons 60 years and over are strongly encouraged to get the booster shot if they have received their second dose more than 6 months ago, as it provides additional protection against the virus,” Public Health said in a statement.
