Leading accountancy, blockchain and cyber security experts are set to present at the fifth annual Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants summit being held 9 Dec. at the Kimpton Seafire Resort.
The conference, titled ‘Momentum’, is for both the private and public sector and will feature sessions on the future of financial services in the Cayman Islands, the role of capital markets in the transition to a low-carbon world and reporting on public sector climate impacts.
Among this year’s speakers are Financial Services Minister André Ebanks, and CEO of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy Rob Whiteman, who leads the only professional accountancy body in the world exclusively dedicated to advancing public finance and supporting better public services.
“Our theme speaks to where we are as a nation right now,” CIIPA CEO Sheree Ebanks said in a press release. “Globally we have all been impacted by COVID, but the Cayman Islands are moving forward with a focus on innovation and opportunity. I’m sure all of the delegates will walk away with valuable insights into what’s next for Cayman and in particular financial services.”
Attendees will also hear from Pamela Greene, the chief information security officer of the Cayman Islands, while Petri Basson of Hash Consulting and PwC’s Isabel Gumeyi will discuss the latest trends in crypto and digital currencies.
The day will end with a mental health focus with certified professional coach Cindy Blekaitis providing practical tips on managing the impact of transition and change.
The cost to attend in person is $200 for CIIPA members and $250 for non-members, with online attendance $200. To register go to ciipa.ky.
Event space will be set up to allow for social distancing, including lunch, coffee and snack breaks.
